About House of Pakistan
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing Pakistani culture and heritage in Southern California and in mainstream American society.
Our mission
House of Pakistan preserves, celebrates and shares Pakistani culture and heritage in Southern California. Through cultural programs, education, community engagement and public events, we create spaces for connection, understanding and belonging.
We are a member house of the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in Balboa Park, where we host free Pakistani cultural days at the Hall of Nations.
Paasand, our community initiative
Paasand carries forward the organization's community care and social impact work through education, women's empowerment, humanitarian support, and local-to-global community engagement. Over the years this work has included:
- Bazaars and business expos that help women build home-based businesses in San Diego
- Support for Pakistani students and single mothers in San Diego
- Flood relief, adopted government schools and health camps in Pakistan
- Fundraisers, including a gala dinner for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital
